1. CALL TO ORDER: Grand President Lindner called the Supreme Council to order at 9:15 PM EDT on Sunday November 7, 1999 on the Internet, in the #SigmaPhiDelta chat-room of the CastleNet Internet Relay Chat network. Six members of the Supreme Council were present, and thus a virtual quorum was present.
2. CHAPTER VISITATIONS: Ben is going to Theta on Thursday and is planning on visiting Alpha in the spring. Chris met with Phi on October 16^th and the report has been sent out to the Supreme Council, and will be meeting with Eta’s E-board this week. The central province is planning a retreat for sometime in January 2000. Keith is visiting the two new chapters, Chi and Psi. Kappa visits are ongoing. Plans to visit Delta in the spring by Mike. There are problems finding a time when we can get all of Delta together at once. Paul met with Alpha Alumni at USC homecoming, and will visit Eta this spring and Kappa this fall. Requested that Mike visit Psi in the spring.
3. EXPANSION: Rutger’s is coming along well, they held an info session last week. We are still waiting to hear the results of the info session. Kappa is planning to visit Rose Hulman on November 19^th, and they are investigating Ohio State. There is interest in Purdue but they are not accepting any new organizations. Keith needs help from other chapters in contacting new schools for expansion. We need to assess/establish the new chapter naming policy past Omega Chapter.
4. EXECUTIVE SECRETARY/TREASURER: Ed will be transferring files to Derek by the end of the year. The changes to the Constitution will be sent out to the chapters and Supreme Council this week. Changes should be incorporated before the end of the semester.
5. MISCELLANEOUS: No status on the latest edition of the Castle, Paul will contact Burt for a status update.
6. FINANCIAL: Fund balances have not been updated. All internet related expenses will be charged to the Castle Fund.
7. YEAR 2000 JPC: Date is set for the weekend of June 29^th, 2000 in Milwaukee. Should be able to set up meeting rooms on campus.
8. INTERNSHIP: First internship to go to Mike Golden at Delta Chapter through the end of the year. The second internship for expansion duties will have applications sent out in the next week to all chapters with a deadline of December 1, 1999 and a decision made by December 15, 1999. Term will be January 1, 2000 to September 1, 2000. Derek will edit the form and get them sent out this week.
9. OTHER BUSINESS: We discussed a motion to give Kappa Chapter an monetary award of $500 ($250 upon initiation, $250 one year later) for their work in establishing Psi chapter last year. Motion to give Kappa Chapter a $500 dollar monetary award for their expansion efforts ($250 upon initiation, $250 one year later). MOTION PASSED
